Feely said she has spent the past three years developing an app that aims to build off of her existing business.
Her app is designed to work like Duolingo, a language learning app, except that an instructor will be working with the student.
Additionally, the app is designed to avoid common pitfalls that make learning an instrument difficult. One such pitfall is the loneliness that comes with practising an instrument alone.
“There’s a little character that embodies the student and this character follows you through your practice,” Feely said.
“A lot of the reason that students don’t practise is because they find it isolating. It’s kind of lonely. So, the little character comes up on the screen and accompanies them while they play.”
